annual \u201cWe Love STEM Day\u201d in June for local students in grades three through eight. The event is designed
to expose young learners to the real-world roles science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM)
play in their everyday lives and potential future careers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cIt was exciting to see the curiosity and interest students had in learning about how STEM integrates into what
we do in manufacturing,\u201d said Rose Hitchens, event chair and chapter lead, RIDGID Women\u2019s Impact
Network for Emerson. \u201cWe were inspired by the creativity each student brought to the day\u2019s activities and look
forward to the mark they will leave on the world.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Students participated in a variety of hands-on activities, including making balloon cars, robotic hands,
pinwheels, water filtration systems and solar-powered cars. Each activity allowed students to learn about the
importance of mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, renewable energy and natural resources in
manufacturing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
